San Antonio Anniversary

Steve had a conference in San Antonio over our anniversary weekend, so Penny and I decided to tag along (this is the same conference we went to last year in Corpus Christi). Cameron also flies out to work in San Antonio and so I brought it up to Virginia that we would be going. Cameron was able to arrange his schedule to be there over the conference time period as well and Virginia and Afton tagged along with him! It worked out so perfectly and I was so so happy to see them! Especially Afton since we hadn't seen her since her baby blessing - she was so much more grown up this trip! Plus, they hadn't even met Penny yet.

We had a blast playing tourist and thoroughly wore the girls out (3 hour naps?!)! San Antonio was way more ghetto than I expected, but I loved this trip!

We went to the San Antonio Aquarium, which was super small, but you could touch pretty much all the animals they had, so still fun! Penny touched a stingray which was used to being fed (you can buy food to give them, but we didn't), so it kinda jumped out of the water mouth first at her! Yikes! Afton stuck her hand into a big tank of Coy fish and they were sucking on her fingers - it was so gross! She was completely unphased by the experience though, as was Penny with the stingray.

We also got to go to the Alamo, which Steve and I agreed we need to learn more about.

Penny fell asleep in her stroller! First time ever!

And we checked out the Riverwalk. Gin and Cam had to leave Saturday, but we stayed til Sunday. After they had left on Saturday Steve and I went exploring the Riverwalk area again (we had done it a bit with the Warrens) and found a way cooler area of the walk and even took a boat tour. I loved it!

The wind was crazy! Gin and I spent about 20 minutes chasing a loose water bottle through the parking lot!

It was a really fun trip and I want to do it all over again!

Five Months

Baby girl is five months old already! I've packed away her 0-3 month clothes and it made me so so sad! But she is growing and learning so many new things. She can roll from back to front now and has become a rolling machine (although she hasn't quite figured out how to roll consecutively, so she's still easy to keep track of)! She has started reaching for everything, which has been so fun. It takes her a lot of concentration to grab something - so cute! And she has a lovely new trick that she thinks is funny: she'll suck in with kind of a gasping sound. It scares us to death cause it sounds like she can't breath, but it's just her playing around. Crazy girl.

We took her to the doc to get her weight checked and she was at 12 lbs 9 oz, which put her close to the 20th percentile = much better than last month. Yay!

She still loves to stroke Steve's beard.

She'll still sleep in her swing occasionally and I love how comfy and snuggled she always looks in it.

Steve wasn't feeling well and Penny sat here for a good 10 minutes just rubbing his head. It was so sweet!

Someone pooped their pants again... 

This month I went back to work for the first time since having Penny. Since I have to travel I left her overnight with Steve. Thankfully this was just a one day session, so I was gone less than 24 hours, but it was really hard! I cried all the way to Abilene and slept less than I do at home with Penny. :/ I was SO happy to get home. Of course Steve did a good job taking care of her, it's just hard not being around her all the time - I'd never left her for more than an hour or two before this trip.

The aftermath of Penny's first back to front roll. She's still trying to figure out how to get that one arm out from underneath herself.

Sundays are killing us! We have church at 9 and I have to wake Penny up each week and she is just so thrown off for the rest of the day. It's a mess.

It may be time to transition to the crib...

And it must be noted that the Broncos won Super Bowl 50!!! It was a happy day in the Peper home (*Mood set by Steve)!

Four Months

Penny is four months! Ah! She has learned how to roll from front to back (although Steve says it's more of a slow flop!). She's also laughing way more and Steve and I are the funniest people in the world based on her reactions. And she won't ride in the care when it's dark without a flashlight thats on and hanging from the handle - she just likes to see whats happening all the time!

11 lbs 10 oz (dropped down to the 5th percentile - we're having to watch this very closely)
24.75 in (50th percentile)
15.75 head circumference (50th percentile)

We took out the newborn insert in her carseat (finally hit the weight requirement) and she looks so small in there!

I cannot get enough of her!

She's a big fan of baths as long as she doesn't have to get her feet wet. :) After we pour water on them she'll put them down in the bath just fine though. Funny girl.
