Grammy's Memorial

At the beginning of August we headed to Boulder to spend a long weekend with family for Grammy's memorial. All of the Peper families were able to make it (along with a lot of extended family) which was so great! I thought about not going since I was 35 weeks pregnant, but I'm so glad I did. Not only did I get to see everyone, but it really helped me get to know all of Steve's extended family a lot better too!

 We had a dinner with the Wainwright side of the family once everyone arrived.

On Sunday we had Grammy's memorial at a park. There were a lot of people there - she is very loved! We had a meal and then people shared thoughts and memories of Grammy followed by some singing.

On Monday we went to a fun park and played mini golf, rode go carts and played in the batting cages.

Random Happenings

I just had a few random pics I thought I'd put up on the blog while I'm in the mood.

We painted our old dresser for baby girl and I actually really like how it turned out! I didn't realize it was so small and such an odd shape until we got a new dresser for ourselves. I guess that's what you get from furniture made in the '70s!

Steve also had the opportunity to head down to Dallas to do a ride along with his good friend Matt Jones, who is a police officer. Steve had been talking about this for ages, so it was great he finally got to go! He just went down for a quick weekend, but really loved the experience. Some of the calls they responded to were a little rough, one in particular that really left Steve upset, but I think he came away with a bigger appreciation for the every day routine of officers. He may blog about it later - I'm just not sure how much he is allowed to share.
